Tailgating in Your Travel Trailer

The moment you’ve been waiting for is here - it’s finally football season! Cheer on your beloved team. Marvel at the feats of athleticism. Enjoy the entertainment. There’s only one way this could be improved: celebrate with your friends at a tailgating party! A tailgating party lets you build up fun and excitement while waiting for the game to start. What better way to throw a tailgating party than to use your travel trailer?

Your travel trailer contains everything you and your party people could need. There’s a bathroom so guests won’t need to wait in line for the grimy public restroom. There’s a kitchen for easy preparation of food.

There’s a living room to relax while catching up on the game predictions. It’s a great way to make a tailgate experience as comfortable and fun as possible. We put together some tips for using your travel trailer to tailgate below. If you need to spruce up your travel trailer before the party with any parts replacement or maintenance, visit RV Station - Colbert. We proudly serve those in Colbert, Oklahoma.

The Food

Food is the cornerstone of a great tailgating party. But you don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen cooking through your party. Instead, you should do as much of the preparation ahead of time. Make your main meal in a slow cooker. Season the food in the morning, turn it on, and you can step away until it’s time to serve it. You can make anything from chili to pulled pork for tacos in a slow cooker.

Another strategy is to pre-cut all fruits and vegetables in the morning. They will stay fresh until the party and you won’t need to waste socializing time cutting them.

A surefire way to cut down cooking time is to turn the party into a potluck. Each guest can contribute something from a salad to pretzels. You get to focus on only preparing one dish. Everyone gets to enjoy numerous food options. It’s a win-win!

The Spot

The best locations will get claimed fast. Heading over early lets you snatch up a great spot. You can use the extra time to get everything set up for your guests. If there is still time leftover, curl up your couch and catch up on the latest game news and predictions. It’ll give you talking points for your party!

The Fuel

Fuel helps fuel your party! But it is easy to burn through. After all, your generator and propane appliances take away a significant amount of energy. You don’t want to face a situation where you run out of fuel partway through the party. Pack along more than you think you need as a safeguard.

The Decorations

Let everyone else know who you are here to represent. Set out a face painting table for your party attendees to don your team’s colors. Hang streamers or a team flag from your antennae or awning. Set out a welcome mat with your team’s logos in front of your travel trailer door. Serve food decorated with icing in your team’s colors. Proudly display your team pride.
